In the 8th grade, I was hit in the mouth during gym class, and I lost my front tooth and broke another. As a result, I spent a lot of time at the dentist for the next few years as she restored my smile. The accident made me very socially conscious, and it affected how I felt about myself. What she did for me when she gave me my smile back was invaluable. Since that day, I wanted to be able to do the same for someone else, and as a result, anytime someone sits in my chair I always remember how I felt when I was in the same shoes.
