Dr. Mostafa Alwakeel

Dr. Alwakeel provides a comprehensive range of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery services, including wisdom teeth removal, dental implants (including full-arch solutions & reconstructions), bone grafting, sinus lift, soft tissue grafting, biopsy, and cosmetic periodontal surgery. Dr. Alwakeel takes pride in achieving outcomes that restore both function and aesthetics—enhancing smiles and improving quality of life.

Dr. Alwakeel completed an Advanced Surgical Implant Fellowship at UCLA, refining his expertise in complex implant and reconstructive surgery. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Temple University, graduating summa cum laude, and holds a master’s degree and oral & maxillofacial surgery certificate from Al-Azhar University.

He is affiliated with University Hospital in Newark and Saint Peter’s University Hospital, where he treats a variety of surgical cases, including facial trauma. In addition, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where he mentors and trains future dental professionals.

Known for his calm, caring demeanor, Dr. Alwakeel is dedicated to making every patient’s surgical experience smooth, stress-free, and positive. He believes in strong communication and close collaboration with referring dentists to ensure continuity of care and exceptional outcomes from consultation through recovery.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Alwakeel is actively involved in community service, volunteering with programs such as Give Kids a Smile and Homeless Not Toothless. He has also been recognized by American Airlines for providing life-saving assistance during two in-flight medical emergencies—an example of his instinctive commitment to helping others in any circumstance.

In his free time, Dr. Alwakeel enjoys hiking, traveling, and exploring new cultures and cities, reflecting his adventurous spirit and appreciation for diverse experiences.
